Brasil

Brasil is a mindblowing big country and Brazilians are a extremely nice and open-minded country. I fell in love - both with the country and the people there. We felt "home" in Brazil and in the big hearts of the nice people.

If you have time, try to learn some words portuguese before you visit Brazil because sometimes, especially in more rural and less touristic places, not everybody speaks English and if you know some words portuguese, it is soooooo much more fun and easier !  (I really only made a short course before I went and I was so thankful for every word that I knew)

I only travelled the north of Brazil (yet) and started my trip in Natal, the city most northeast and then travelled toward the Amazon. Natal is a smaller city and has the biggest tree worldwide! It is a cashew tree who has a genetic mutation that it grows sidewards and is now as big as a whole forest - really amazing !!

Belem, one of the rainiest cities in the world, was wonderful and we never had rain there ! Manaus, especially the Theatre of the Amazon is simply amazing. In the middle of the jungle there is a huge city, Manaus, and in the centre of that city there is a Victorian Theatre were time has stood still and you feel like in the last century.
